Summary:
Patrolman Williams was shot and killed at 0600 hours after stopping a vehicle that was just involved in a robbery and kidnapping of a gas station attendant. Patrolman Williams was shot by the driver as he approached the vehicle. He was able to return fire, striking a tire. The occupants abandoned the vehicle and were apprehended a short time later. The shooter was sentenced to life without parole. Patrolman Williams had been with the agency for two years and was survived by his wife and son.
